Pioneering Innovation: Machinecraft’s First Made-in-India IMG Thermoforming Machine

Machinecraft is proud to announce a major milestone in India's manufacturing journey—the successful development of the country’s first locally designed and built IMG thermoforming machine. This achievement reflects Machinecraft’s commitment to innovation, engineering excellence, and delivering solutions tailored to high-demand industries.

The Innovation at a Glance

The newly developed thermoforming machine is engineered to handle complex, high-precision manufacturing tasks with remarkable efficiency. Designed with cutting-edge technology, the machine incorporates fully automated processes to enhance productivity and ensure consistent quality.

Process Flow: How the Machine Works

Our IMG thermoforming machine is equipped with an advanced process flow designed to maximize efficiency and precision:

  1. Automatic Film Pick and Placement: The process begins with automatic film picking by vacuum pads, which place the film over a servo-adjustable clamp frame.

  2. Preheating: The film is driven into a double-heating oven equipped with infrared (IR) quartz lamps on both the top and bottom. This heating step ensures uniform temperature distribution across the material.

  3. Forming: Once heated, the servo-driven clamp frame moves the film into a press. With a clamp force of 10 tonnes, the press forms the heated film into the desired shape using advanced vacuum technology.

  4. Cooling and Release: After forming, the product undergoes a controlled cooling phase, followed by automatic release from the press.

Technical Highlights

Our machine stands out with industry-leading specifications designed to meet diverse production needs:

  • Maximum Platen Size: 1650 x 800 mm, enabling the processing of large parts.

  • Daylight (Opening Space): 2200 mm, offering flexibility for varied product dimensions.

  • Clamp Force: 10 tonnes, powered by 2 x 15 kW servo motors and a rack system driven by SEW gearboxes.

  • IR Quartz Heating Ovens: Located on both the top and bottom, ensuring precise and efficient heating.

  • XY Adjustable Clamp Frame: Servo motor-driven for optimal control and accuracy.

Performance and Efficiency

Designed with production speed in mind, the machine achieves a cycle time of approximately 120 seconds per finished part. This level of efficiency makes it a game-changer for industries that require high-throughput manufacturing without compromising on quality.

What This Means for India’s Manufacturing Sector

By developing this state-of-the-art thermoforming machine domestically, Machinecraft is setting new benchmarks for industrial innovation in India. We are reducing dependence on imported machinery and empowering local industries to adopt advanced manufacturing solutions. This initiative aligns with the broader goals of promoting indigenous technology and enhancing India's competitiveness in global markets.

Looking Ahead

Machinecraft remains committed to continuous improvement and customer-focused innovation. As we build upon the success of this project, we are already exploring new ways to enhance our thermoforming technology. Our goal is to deliver even greater performance, efficiency, and sustainability for our clients.
